Maths help for middle school students
Middle school is where maths quietly turns into a different subject. Fractions give way to algebra, a letter appears where a number used to be, and a child who was fine last year comes home saying they hate it. Usually nothing dramatic happened: one chapter went past too quickly and everything built on top of it has been shaky since. A good tutor starts by finding that chapter instead of drilling tonight's homework. Sessions cover fractions and ratios, equations, geometry and the first proofs, and the exam at the end of the cycle for anyone heading into secondary. A free first lesson is normal, and it tells you the thing that matters most, which is whether your child actually talks to this person.
