Serbian and Slovenian tutors for foreigners

Learning a language while you live in the country is not the same as taking a course somewhere else, and the useful tutors know the difference. Your week contains a form at the police station, a landlord who speaks quickly and does not slow down, a neighbour who asks something friendly you cannot parse, and a shop where you know the words but not the order anyone says them in. Textbook Serbian and textbook Slovenian are polite, full and grammatical, while what you hear is fast, clipped and often in a case ending you have not met. The cases are the real wall: seven in Serbian, six in Slovenian, which also keeps a dual for exactly two of anything. A good tutor does not teach them from a table. They teach the two or three you need to say where you are going and where you have been, then add the rest as the sentences you want demand them. Say in your first message what you need the language for, paperwork, work or talking to family, because those point at different tutors. A free first lesson is normal.
