Online French tutoring for middle school

There is a practical difference between French and most of the other subjects on a twelve year old's timetable, and it has nothing to do with the language. Someone at home can usually look at English homework and tell that a sentence is off, even without being able to explain why. With French, almost nobody in the house can. Every mistake made between lessons therefore goes uncorrected, gets repeated, and settles into the version the child believes is right. A week is a long time for that to happen in. So the useful question here is less how good the tutor is and more how often they appear. Twenty minutes three times a week does more than an hour on Saturday, because the work at this stage is small and repetitive: a verb table said out loud, ten nouns with their articles, a short piece corrected while the child still remembers writing it. That only stays affordable, and only lasts past March, when there is no journey attached to it. There is a second thing in favour of a screen at this particular age. A short lesson is easy to keep. A child who would refuse to put shoes on and go somewhere for twenty minutes will sit down for twenty minutes, and the arrangement is still alive in the summer term. Worth saying plainly: if your child already practises alone and gets corrected properly at school, none of this is urgent. And if the real problem is that they will not open the book at all, more frequent lessons will not solve it either. This works when the willingness is there and only the correction is missing.
