Most of working life in a second language is more repetitive than it feels. The weekly status call has the same six turns every week, the handover email has a shape, the introduction you give on a first client call is the same introduction. All of that is rehearsable, and rehearsing it is dull and works. What catches people out is the part that never repeats: the aside somebody makes while screens are being shared, the joke that everyone answers except you, the two minutes of small talk before the agenda starts, the question asked in a tone you cannot read. That is where competent speakers go quiet, and no amount of vocabulary fixes it, because the difficulty is speed and improvisation rather than words. A lesson can work on both, but only if it is built from your situations rather than a generic office. Come with what actually happened: the sentence you did not catch on Tuesday, the meeting where you had something to say and the moment passed, the phrase a colleague uses constantly that you have never understood. Those are the syllabus. Ask the tutor to make you improvise rather than recite, and to interrupt you the way real colleagues do, because being interrupted is the specific skill.
