Online IGCSE tutors

For most school systems, going online is the compromise you accept when nobody local fits. IGCSE is the exception, and it is worth understanding why. The qualification is the same paper in Nairobi, Belgrade and Kuala Lumpur, so a teacher four time zones away is preparing your child for the identical thing a teacher down the road would be, and the examiner neither knows nor cares where the lessons happened. Meanwhile the pool for any one specification is thin almost everywhere outside Britain, because IGCSE pupils are scattered across international schools rather than concentrated in a national system. So the sensible search here is not the nearest person who can teach the subject, it is the best person who knows this course, wherever they live. There is a second reason, and families who have lived it recognise it immediately: if you move mid course, and a lot of IGCSE families do, the tutor moves with you. A posting to another country stops being an interruption in the middle of a two year syllabus. Book the free first lesson across whatever time difference you are working with and see whether the hour actually suits both sides before you commit to a term of it.
