How your position in search results is decided

Search results are ordered, not filtered, by how you work: how much time you leave bookable, how you answer people, how your sessions go, and how complete your listings are. Nothing here ever hides a listing.

Where to see your own standing

Open Engagement → Ranking. Each area gets a band, from Strong down to Needs attention, with one line saying what it measures, so you can see where your effort is worth spending. We show bands rather than a score on purpose: a number invites people to chase the number instead of the work behind it.

Bookable this week comes first

A listing somebody can actually book in the next seven days is shown ahead of one they cannot, before anything else is considered. If your calendar is closed, opening some hours in Schedule → Availability is the single biggest move available to you.

What moves your position

Open time to book: How much of the coming week and month a student can actually book.

Replies to new enquiries: How often you answer a first message or booking request, and how quickly. Messages we flag as spam are not counted.

Kept sessions: Sessions you completed, against the ones you cancelled or missed.

Reviews: Your rating, how many people left one, and how recent they are.

Listing detail: A title, a description, a video, prices and languages on the listing itself.

Recent activity: When you last updated the listing, and when you were last active.

Verified account: A verified email and phone, a photo, and a way to be paid.

If you are new here

An area with nothing to measure yet counts as neutral, not as a poor result. You are not pushed to the bottom for having no reviews or no sessions behind you, because that would leave you with no way to earn either.

Search shows one listing per person

Browse and search show your strongest listing that matches what the visitor asked for, not all of them, so no one can fill the first page. Every listing still has its own page and its own link, which you can send to anyone.

Language decides who sees you at all

Before any of this, visitors are shown people who work in a language they read. Set the languages on each listing: it is the difference between placing low and not appearing.

Ranking never hides a listing

It only ever changes the order. If a listing has disappeared from search completely, that is something else, usually a paused listing. The article on replying in time covers how that happens and how to put it right.

These readings update as you work. We do not publish the exact formula, and it changes as the platform grows.
