Hello, my name is Megumi Taguchi. I am currently teaching Japanese at a university in the United States. The reason I teach Japanese is that I want students who are interested in Japan to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and bring it into their daily lives, and to discover a “new version of themselves” through learning the language. So far, I have taught Japanese both online and in person, based in Japan and the United States, to university students and professionals aiming to work in Japan. I believe that “teaching the Japanese language is also teaching the culture.” In my classes, I use illustrated real-life situations for conversation practice and focus on helping students acquire natural Japanese expressions and practical communication skills that go beyond the textbook. I also design lesson content tailored to each learner’s needs, incorporating various approaches to make learning Japanese both enjoyable and effective.
