Online English classes for young children

Teaching a small child over video is not the same job as teaching one in a room, and not every good tutor can do both. In person you have the whole child in front of you and plenty of ways to get them back when they drift. On a screen you have a face, a voice and whatever you can put on the shared window, so the tutors who make it work tend to have a lot prepared: pictures to point at, a puppet, a game with a scoreboard, something the child has to do with their hands every few minutes. Sessions run short for the same reason, often twenty five or thirty minutes, because that is genuinely how long the attention lasts. The upside is real: your child can work with someone who specialises in this age group rather than whoever teaches nearby, and the lesson fits into an afternoon without anyone getting in a car. Sit in on the free first one. You will know inside five minutes whether the tutor can keep your child looking at the screen.
