Online English conversation lessons

For most language practice, a screen is a compromise. For English conversation it is arguably the real thing. The calls you are preparing for are video calls: a client in another country, a standup with a team you have never met, a supplier whose accent you have to catch through a slightly delayed connection. Practising in exactly that medium means practising the actual difficulty, which is not vocabulary but talking over half a second of lag without losing the thread. There is a second reason people end up here. A tutor several time zones ahead is how you get a native speaker at seven in the morning before work, or at eleven at night after the children are down, and consistency at those hours matters more than any method. You talk about your own work and your own week. A free first session is usual, and turning the camera on is optional until you would rather it were on.
